Jacquie set up Stir It Up Cookery as a Company with social intentions as her aims and ambitions were always to put purpose, people and planet over profit.
Her main activities were running cookery classes for children in after school and holiday club settings and were a great success, introducing children to new ingredients, showing them vegetables can be delicious and crucially giving them the confidence and skills to execute basic recipes and techniques without supervision.
With an eye on having greater impact on local families, September 2019 saw Stir It Up win a small grant to deliver cookery classes in Hounslow Children’s Centres- they were so successful and well attended that a second bid for funding was submitted and won to deliver further classes in January 2020.
in January 2020, Stir it Up won one of 8 places (out of over 100 entries) on Impact Hub’s Feeding The City incubation scheme for small, food-based start-ups with the ambition to launch a healthy meal-kit delivery service aimed at busy families, making vegetables the star of the show.
We are excited to announce that the launch of the delivery box service will be January 2021. We’d love to take it further and build a community around it with recipe sharing/tips and tricks platforms, recipe competitions in local schools to find up and coming chefs, pop-up restaurants and lunch parties and ultimately bring joy to our community through food. We want our customers to feel that they are part of the success of the company.
