Diary of an Event Manager

July 2022

It is hard to believe that after 2 years away we are finally going to be back putting on another Brentford Festival in Blondin Park. Sadly, we have lost a few volunteers along the way, but are not letting that stop us and have already recruited some new people to help. We started fundraising at the festival held in 2018 to build a pavilion and even though we have not had a festival since 2019 we were successful in reaching our target and have a great building which, on the day of the festival, on 4th September, it will become our refreshment hub selling real ales, cans and juices and the café section teas, barista coffees and home-made cakes.

The farm animals and horses have gone on holiday so we won’t be seeing them this year but will have the fairground amusements including the giant zorbs. The stage will host 6 bands with some community demonstrations in dance and exercise preceding them and opening the event.

We will have our usual mixture of food operators, charity and awareness stalls and can confirm that we can still take on more stalls. If you are interested please visit https://brentfordfestival.org.uk/stalls and fill in the form – there is still time.

Next month in Diary of an Event Manager we will give the programmes for the stage and the dog show and let you know how you can organise free transport through ECT if you have difficulty in getting to the site. Thanks for reading.
